September in Primary!

Twiggle the turtle came to visit for a PATHS lesson!
We sorted letters!
We learned about how we important bees are for pollination and then we made apple trees  with five apples!

October!

This week, we went to visit our class tree.  We went to see how it has changed since September and wow!  The leaves have turned yellow so of course we had to paint our changing tree.  Also, check our our leaf rubbings we did after our leaf hunt.  We discovered that "Fall Leaves" have our special letters F and L so we practiced those in our title!

It was all about patterns in Math this week!

We even patterned with our Bippity, Boppity Boo activity this week all while re-practicing the letter B!

November and December

Sammy the Snowplow came to visit!  We learned all about how to play safely in the snow.  Then we went out to see Sammy.  We got rained out but he said he would come back again to visit!

We have been partner reading everyday after we do our independent reading.  We have been practicing our reading superpowers!

We made some beautiful Christmas tree centerpieces for the holiday dinner!

Mr. O'Quinn stopped by during our Holiday centers to paint some candy canes with peppermint paint!

January

We have been visiting "our tree" monthly to see how it changes throughout the year and this month we found almost every leaf on our tree to have fallen! Oh and of course, it is surrounded by snow now!

We have been conducting some experiments in Science.  We started with building some mini-snowman and bringing them into our warm classroom.  We discovered that snow turns to water when heated and then we put our melted snowmen back outside to make ICE!  We had some excellent discussions around water changing states.

Polar Bear Projects!

Happy Spring!

Our class tree is looking very bare in Spring.  Some of us noticed what looked like buds growing on our tree! :)  We have also celebrated being in school for 100 days!  Wow.  Ms. Porter came in to teach us about the Mi'kmaq star and four colors.  Then we made zipper pulls with these colors and we had so much fun!
